The Oarhouse is a riverside cafe nestled right along the bank of the Swan River in Bayswater, offering a casual spot where locals and visitors alike slow down with a coffee and a view. With a relaxed indoor space warmly decorated and plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the water, it’s an inviting pause from the everyday pace.

People often come here to enjoy the peaceful river setting—especially on clear spring, autumn, or winter days when the sunshine makes sitting outside especially pleasant. The cafe’s location next to the ANA Rowing Club and surrounding parklands adds a natural vibe, making it an ideal place to watch the boats drift by or even spot a few dogs on riverside strolls nearby.

Ordering is straightforward at the counter, with thoughtful touches like buzzer notifications that let you know when your coffee or snack is ready without the hassle of constantly checking. The menu points to standout drinks like almond and oat lattes, alongside heartier brekky burgers that fit well with the easy-going, outdoorsy atmosphere.

Parking is convenient just behind the cafe, which helps if you’re bringing along a folding chair or plan to linger for a while. In cooler months, lap blankets are provided to keep you cozy by the water’s edge, making it a spot where a quiet morning or afternoon can stretch on comfortably.

While prices sit a bit on the higher side for regular coffee, many visitors feel the setting compensates for the cost—this is notably a place where the river views and relaxed pace are part of the experience. If you’re looking to catch up with a friend, enjoy a slow walk by the water, or simply soak in some tranquil riverside vibes while sipping a well-crafted latte, The Oarhouse fits neatly into that kind of day.

Great coffee, sandwiches and wraps. The ambience can't be beat on a lovely sunny spring, autumn or winter day. There are tables and chairs outside right by the river or byo is easy as carpark is right behind so no need to lug your chair a long distance. Lap blankets provided in winter. Order at the counter and they give you a buzzer so sitting outside is easy.

A lovely cafe with beautiful river views. The cafe is surrounded by Parkland and adjacent to the ANA Rowing Club. It's a wonderful place to sit and relax with a coffee, take in the view, and meditate on the beauty of your surroundings. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor section is well-decorated and has a pleasant ambience.

One of the best places to pull up for a coffee. I didn’t realise how serene the Swan River is and this lovely cafe sits on its banks. Do yourself a favour and try them out

Nice coffee nice location. Great place for a date/walk by the river and see all the dogs if your Interested in that The cafe is facing the river and there's no sign so you need to walk around, but you'll see all the people no doubt I was reading a review about this place and apparently their buzzers to let you know your order is ready , sounded like a reversing truck haha! They must have have changed the sound because they really don't sound that bad, Parking on a weekend fills up pretty fast especially after 8am.

First impressions were very expensive. $12.23 for two regular flat whites. Which took about 10mins to arrive. I only pay $5.75 at the airport!! Maybe I'm out of touch. This said you wont get a better location than this. Perfect for relaxing and watching the river. Heaps of parking too so it a great spot.

I’ve ordered the ice latte, cappuccino, and hot chocolate from here and all have been amazing. The atmosphere is super welcoming and local feeling (of course), where you can sit outside in the morning and enjoy the beautiful view of the swan river. I would definitely recommend as one of Perth’s best cafes!
